External works completed for the contract included the reinstatement of the sports field, hard play areas including a MUGA all drainage and service connections all fencing and road and landscaping works. Modulek even redeveloped an existing courtyard to provide the school with a new library.

The building was officially opened by the MP for Bournemouth West, Conor Burns at the ‘Official Grand Opening’ held on Friday 6th February. The theme was ‘A movie premiere’ the stars of the show were the pupils themselves who entered the new hall via a red carpet to rapturous applause. The children were wearing their best clothes, some of them even dressed up as their favourite movie character. And along with speeches and award giving a film showing the build process, complete with comments from some of the children, was shown to the gathered audience.

Other guests included parents, council officials and the staff and teachers of the school. The guests were invited to stay for refreshments in the new hall whilst the children had their own ‘after show’ parties in their classrooms.

Conor Burns MP Commented ‘Absolutely fantastic! Wonderful new light, airy, spacious buildings. And what is really brilliant is that although now the buildings are fresh, large, new and modern, the ethos is recognisably the best of Kingsleigh’
