Alderbrook School in Solihull required a new SEN satellite building, to further students with Special Educational Needs in their education, and to help students achieve their full potential with purpose built facilities.
Before building works onsite could commence, it was important that ground investigation was undertaken to determine a suitable and cost effective foundation design. This was undertaken by Sub Surface, who are one of the UK’s leading and highly regarded independent Ground Investigation specialist, geotechnical and environmental consultancy firms.
The new building has state-of-the-art facilities, to create a building that inspires students of all ages. From modern break out areas which are cheerful, bright and inspiring, to sensory soft-play areas, the new facility has areas that nurture student talents.
The building has been designed with an attractive and bespoke cladding, making the building modern and appealing.
When positioned next to the already existing, old modular portacabins that the school has, you can certainly see how modular construction has progressed in the last few decades! From bleak portacabins, to a state of the art permanent facility that will last for the next few generations, Alderbrook School has certainly embraced the new fastest and most cost efficient method of construction available today.
It is with no doubt that this is a building that will continue to serve many generations of students, for years to come!
